Fabolous Upsets 50 cent With His Opinion

Fabolous Upsets 50 cent With His Opinion

Okay, you have to admit all the beef going around in hip hop is getting a bit tired.  Everywhere you look some rapper don’t like this rapper, and this rapper don’t like that rapper.  I mean, these guys are beefing with each other more than they make music. And there is definitely a shortage of good music in hip hop these days.

Well, the potential new beef started a few days ago from the King Beefer himself, 50 Cent.  50 Cent didn’t care much for a tweet Fabolous made about 50’s new found unity when he had a concert with other New York artists.

In Fabolous’ words “ Its interesting to c 50 Cent unite wit NY artists when he’s 1 of the reasons NY hip hop became so isolated & crumbled..Do u agree NY??

I guess it was a good show 4 NY.. But if u asked 50 a few years ago if he ever saw hisself on stage with any of them he woulda said HELL NO!

I wonder if this is a law in the 50th law of power book??”

Then from 50 Cent’s blog he responded by saying the following:

“Reading what Fab said about me on Twitter was disappointing. I have extended myself to Fab personally to allow him to expand himself as an international Touring Artist.  Thought we were Friends but that’s cool.

But there’s more, 50 cent even went as far as citing an excerpt from his new book The 50th Law:

Law #2: Never put too much trust in Friends, Learn how to use Enemies
Be wary of friends—they will betray you more quickly, for they are easily aroused to envy. They also become spoiled and tyrannical. But hire a former enemy and he will be more loyal than a friend, because he has more to prove. In fact, you have more to fear from friends than from enemies. If you have no enemies, find a way to make them.
—50th Law of Power.

I Thought We Were Friends

I Thought We Were Friends

Am I 50 Cent or Am I Machiavelli? Dammmm!!!

Now Fabolous responds again from twitter:

At 50’s peak his grind was unmatched, image was bulletproof, music was ignorantly motivational & catchy, even classic. most never hav that

So dont think im takin shots at 50.. Jus that NY show had me a lil puzzled.. But i love NY so i couldnt knock it if i wanted to.

And Then More Fab from twitter : Woke up 2 see my twitter topic of discussion bout da 50 Cent concert was taken out of context. Made what i said look like im hatin or dissin

Def wasnt hatin.. I said if anything it was a good show 4 NY.. And i was invited 2 perform too, BUT i had my own show 2 do at Lincoln U.

And i wasnt dissin 50 either, my opionon was brought on by the history of the 50 Cent’s hip hop career..50 Cent responded to my tweets sayin “he was disappointed & thought we were friends”.. But i dont think i said anything bashing him..I actually tip my hat 2 50 4 all he has done, but n his help 2 the city theres been some hurt 2 the city.. & i dont/didnt blame him entirely.

I retweeted yall perspectives on da 50 concert, good or bad..Not only my views.. So im not against him, jus was unusual 2 c this new unity. So im wrong 4 my opinion? Even to someone as opinionated as 50 has been thru his career on any & everything/one..

& blogs & comment leavers r a part of the sensitivity in discussion.. They want everything to b a beef.. guess, u play in dirt, u get dirty. And im not apologizin’ for my opinion.. Jus explaining my comments that were taken out of context.. Peace my twiggas!!

Hopefully 50 Cent will let this incident go because it’s pretty obvious Fabolous was only speaking his opinion and if anyone knows anything bout openly speaking they’re own opinion it’s 50 Cent.

Chamillionaire Is Done With Rap If Jay-Z Starts Live Streaming

Chamillionaire Is Done With Rap If Jay-Z Starts Live Streaming

In a response to a tweet on twitter.com Chamillionaire was asked about what he thought about Stephon Marbury’s wierd behavior in recent web vidoes.

Chamillionaire tweeted “  Im still trippin’ about Starbury’s live video stream…..Tryin to figure it out.

The messed up part for me is I watched most of his career since before Georgia Tech. I even recorded the game he played vs AI in college.

Your legacy is everything. I just hope Jay Z doesn’t EVER start live streaming for attention. Thats the day Im gonna be done with rap period”

Does the Houston rapper has a point?  In the last few weeks rappers and athletes have been acting like nuts on the web.

I Refuse To Be The Next Cris Cross!

I'm Still Relevant...Aren't I?

I'm Still Relevant...Aren't I?

With Lil’ Wayne freestylin’ calling Michael Jackson a fag, Bow Wow twittering private pictures and overexposing himself on Ustream for hours, and Stephon Marbury looking for somebody to check him into the psych ward.

When is too much exposure for a “star” too much?  At what point does the foolishness hurt their careers?

Is Eminem Really Obsessed?

Is Eminem Really Obsessed?

Ok, Eminem shot back at Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon with his “Warning” diss track.  It was hot.  The track went straight for Mimi’s jugular, but lets stop for  a minute and analyze what’s really going on here.

Slim Shady tells Mariah to “Shut the F— up before he puts all the phone calls out she made to my house..”

So Slim Shady saved the voicemail messages Mariah left on his voicemail box?  After all these years?

It’s been a minute since him and Mariah allegedly hooked up, right?  … So you kept the voice mails?  Not a good look.

“Mariah has it ever occurred to you I still have pictures…”  Wow, in most relationships go south the person that doesn’t want to let go tend to save pictures of when they were together.  Seriously, this don’t look good.  And we know a lot of Eminem lovers aren’t gonna feel this, but it don’t look good.

Eminem also takes a few jabs at Nick Cannon saying “Faggot, you think I’m scared of you.  You gonna ruin my career, you better get one.  (That was funny) But everybody knows, when an ex isn’t over a relationship they hate their ex-lovers new love even more.  It’s looking worse, Em.

Lastly, and we realize most Eminem lovers aren’t gonna like this, heck, we like the dude, but think about this.  Eminem is going back and forth with a woman.

Mariah Carey isn’t even a rapper.  She didn’t even have enough backbone to say “Yeah, that’s Eminem in the video”.  This is a woman, Shady!!

I Know You Can't Help Missing This

I Know You Can't Help Missing This

Let that crap go, and let Mariah go.  The longer you keep this beef going with Mariah, the worse it’s going to make you look.

And if you keep it up you will start looking like your Obsessed.  This is a WARNING from a hip hop head.

Does Jay-Z Have The Right to Diss The Auto-Tune?

by Rod Cornelius on 06/07/2009

Jay-Z Plans To Kill The Auto-Tune

Jay-Z Plans To Kill The Auto-Tune

By now everyone knows Jay-Z doesn’t like the use of the auto-tune in hip hop.  He’s dissing the use of it hard in his new single  Death of Auto-Tune.  His primary argument against the use of auto-tune is that it’s being overdone and unoriginal.

He disses the auto-tune despite the fact that one of his most popular artist, Kanye West, used it throughout his entire last studio album 808 and Heartbreaks. Most would say if every rapper misused the auto-tune the way Kanye West did with that album then Jay would have a very credible argument.

Blueprint 3 Drops September 11th

Blueprint 3 Drops September 11th

What’s really been amazing about Jay-Z’s attack on the auto-tune is the fact that one of it’s biggest users, like T-Pain is just allowing Jay-Z  to knock their meat and potatoes.  And let’s face it, the auto-tune is T-Pain’s meat, potatoes, wine and dessert.

T-Pain’s like, I’m cool with Jay-Z dissing it, but I’m still going to use it.  And that’s cool, but does Jay-Z even have the right to diss anyone overdoing or overusing anything?

Let’s be honest,  most of Jay-Z’s music throughout his career is about how much money he’s made selling  dope, chillin’ with the ladies or how much money he has and spends.  By any chance is being a notorious drug dealing rapper with lots of loot sound overdone and unoriginal to anyone?

It’s just amazing to see all these artists out there allowing one rapper that has overdone selling dope and flashing cash in his own rhymes knock something that’s actually making them a lot of cash, even if the hater is Shawn Carter.  And, yes, the auto-tune is overdone and tired, but isn’t rapping about selling dope and flashing money around is too?

A good argument to rap about is how to make hip hop smarter at the same time being entertaining.  That would be something really original to rap about.

T-Pain Has No Problem With Jay Knockin' His Hustle

T-Pain Has No Problem With Jay Knockin' His Hustle

Jay-Z’s Blueprint 3 is scheduled to drop September 11th, where he will officially proceed to bring death to the auto-tune.

Is Eminem Overrated?

by hiphopmvp on 06/07/2009

Is Eminem Overrated?

Is Eminem Overrated?

Vibe and Irv Gotti has sparked much debate the past couple of weeks about who is hip hop’s greatest of all time.  If you travel to the suburbs the answer would be really simple: Slim Shady.  If you were to stroll through the hood you’d get a jambalayla of different MC’s from Nas to Jay-Z and from Big to Pac.

Is Eminem Better Than BIG?

Is Eminem Better Than BIG?

Currently no one seems to get the press that Eminem gets.  His latest cd “Relapse” was excellent and will be a classic for years to come.  The cd went platinum in no time… but is it getting any love in the hood?  Probably not as much as tracks from Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Lil’ Wayne or even 50 Cent.

So the real question is, is Eminem considered the top of the game because he’s truly a great MC or because he’s the greatest white MC to touch the mic?

Like Irv Gotti stated, would you really bump Hard Knock Life if Eminem was the MC slinging the lyrics?  Would it even sound right?

Most hood minds say Eminem is a good lyricist but his songs are too gimmicky and sometimes outright silly.  But the truth is those gimmicky and silly rhymes are selling like hotcakes.  So what should being the greatest rapper qualifications consist of.  Sales? Content?  Swag?

Is Eminem Better than Jay-Z?

Is Eminem Better than Jay-Z?

Vibe’s semi-finals bracket consists of Jay-Z, Tupac, Biggie and Eminem.  Should Eminem even be there?  Is Eminem really a better rapper than Nas, Mos Def or Lil’ Wayne?  Does Vibe even have the credibility to make a bracket questioning the greatest rapper of all time?  What method did they follow to make the brackets?

Is Eminem Better Than Tupac?

Is Eminem Better Than Tupac?

Anyone that has ever made a comment disagreeing with Slim Shady being the greatest of all time on a blog or website already knows the verbal lashing that follows.

So with an online following that Eminem has online, and votes based off of a web head count, Eminem is certainly guaranteed to win Vibe’s opinion-based tourney on being the greatest of all time.

But will the hood ever see Eminem as being the greatest of all time?  Besides hip hop was born in the hood.

Nick And Carey

Cannon And Carey

It has made headlines all over the web, Nick Cannon calling out Eminem for dissing him and his wife Mariah Carey on his new cd Relapse.  Some of the song lyrics are as follows:

“Nick Cannon better back the f*ck up/ I’m not playin’, I want her back you punk”

“Nick Cannon, you pr—, I wish you luck with that f—in’ whore.”

In response to Eminem’s song, “Bagpipes From Baghdad,” Nick Cannon posted a very detailed response to the song and his displeasure for the rapper’s words towards him and his wife.

“Maybe I’m going too far, but I thought we got past the days where white men could spew vulgar obscenities at our beautiful queens and get away with it,” Cannon continued. “What’s next? Are we going to let this trash say something horrible about our lovely first lady, Mrs. Michelle Obama? Or would Marshall have talked sideways out of his neck like this about Oprah Winfrey?

Cannon’s blog post was removed shortly after it was posted.

Since Eminem’s debut to the national rap scene he’s been dissing other artists from Kid Rock to Canibus.  But now has he gone too far?  Maybe.

If you take a trip around the forums and blogs all around the web you will actually notice overwhelming support for Eminem.  Is this support a sign of how poor and low our culture has become?  Or is it a showing of bias because he happens to be the most successful white rapper ever?

Let’s take the entertainment business out of the equation.  And although Cannon makes several references to race in his post, let’s also take race out of the equation also.  You have one man, calling another man’s wife a whore and calling him a punk.  That’s really deep.  It’s actually grounds to administer a grade A knuckle sandwich across that man’s lips.  Nick Cannon had no choice but to spit back at Eminem or he would indeed be a genuine chump.

Again taking the entertainment business out of the equation and  let’s take race out of it also.  Is Eminem bold enough to say these things to Nick Cannon’s face?  Honeslty, would he say half of what he’s said over the length of his carerr to any of his foes?

It’s easy to spew words over wax, but how many “real men” would allow another man to call their wife or girlfriend a whore?

Eminem was out of line and it’s really doubtful he would say anything of this magnitude to Nick Cannon’s face or any man.  And all those out there clowning Nick Cannon for spitting back at Eminem for what he said to that man’s wife need to take a moment to think about the situation.

Slim Shady

Slim Shady

What if this dude said these things about your girl or your wife?  What would you say?  “Come on man, it’s Eminem, that’s what he does”… Your girl or your wife will call you out as a chump.

And as far as Nick Cannon facing off with Eminem in a fair one, be careful not to underestimate the underdog.  Everybody from the hood knows it ain’t the dog with the loudest bark you need to worry about.

Ja Rule Is Resting In Peace Somewhere But It Aint Because of 50

Ja Rule Is Resting In Peace Somewhere But It Aint Because of 50

Over the last couple of months we’ve had the luxury of observing the 50 cent versus Rick Ross rap beef.  50 Cent has thrown everything at Rick Ross from a sex tape with Rick Ross’ baby momma to super funny comics and videos depicting his nemesis.

But no matter what punches 50 Cent has thrown at Rick Ross, Rick Ross keeps coming back.  Having a hot record hasn’t hurt either.

Win or lose, Rick Ross deserves a lot of credit for standing toe to toe with 50 Cent since most rappers refuse to stand up to 50 Cent at all.

Everyone seems to have their take on who’s winning this latest rap beef between 50 and Ross, but there are many warning to Rick Ross that he needs to chill out or become the next Ja Rule.

Which brings us to the meat of our post.  Does 50 Cent Get too much credit for killing Ja Rule’s rap career?  Hip Hop MVP says, yes!

There is no doubt many DJ’s took sides and refused to play Ja Rule’s songs because of the beef Ja had with Fifty, but really, wasn’t Ja Rule begining to play himself out?

Every other song he came out with had a woman singing the hook from Ashanti to J-Lo.   His songs were repetitive.  He became obsessed with Tupac, so much he made an attempt to remake one of Tupac’s greatest song, Pain.

His attempt to remake himself into Tupac may have done the most damage since most Tupac fans despised the fact Ja Rule was copying Pac so badly.  From Tupac’s dressing style, to even some of Tupac’s catch phrases Ja Rule bit it all.

So looking back on it, was ending Ja Rule’s career such a hard thing for 50 cent to do?  We say no.

If your music is good, people will buy it and listen to it.  No matter what the Djs are playing in the club or the radio.

Ja Rule  just stopped making good music and instead of being an original act, he tried to reincarnate himself into a legend that would most likely smack him if he were alive today.

Can Chris Brown Rebound?

by hiphopmvp on 28/03/2009

Can Chris Brown Save His Career?

By now the Chris Brown vs. Rihanna spat isgetting to be old news. The biggest issue right now is if Rihanna’s leaving Chris or not. But let’s take a look a little further down the road at the amateur boxer’s future in the music biz.

Technically his singing career should be over. Look at Ike Turner, the original King of Rock and Roll. When the world gotword of how bad he beat Tina Turner his career went into a coma until it finally died. But what about Chris Brown?

He’s young, he’s got that going for him. He sings pretty good, he’s got that going for him. But he’s a woman beater, not so good.

There’s never a good reason to hit a woman. Never. Even Mista’ in The Color Purple tried to get back in good graces with Miss Celie by bringing her children and sister back to America because the loneliness was so bad after she left.

No one wanted to be around Mista. And right now everybody hates Chris. Nobody wants to be around a woman beater, let alone buy his cd.

Even Rihanna, with her apparent foolishness of taking him back can rebound. But what about Chris? Is it possilbe? Only time will tell.
